Tolland Conservation Commission

Minutes from the September 24, 2009 meting were approved with corrections.
Pursuant to Chapter 131, Section 40 MGL, the Tolland Conservation Commission will hold public hearings on Thursday, October 22, beginning at 6:30 P.M. at Tolland Town Hall, 241 West Granville Rd, Tolland for the following purposes:
RDA (continued) submitted by Susan Gumbart, 77 Chipmunk Crossing. Applicant seeks to remove 2 additional trees in buffer zone of Cranberry Pond.
A discussion of basic regulations ensued with Gary O’Brien in relation to trees that had already being cut on the Gumbart property without commission approval.
Negative determination was approved on the condition that a replanting guide to restore some of the tree canopy be submitted by the February meeting. The plan will be reviewed and approved with exact numbers and proposed plants at that time. E.C. will be installed prior to the spring planting.
Old Business:
List of contractors is still pending advisement by the town lawyers.
New Business:
Discussion of previous approved NOI in Wildwood to decrease the width of the driveway from 14’ to 12’ to allow for less impact and improved planting areas. The request was continued to Special Meeting on November 5, at 6:30 PM.
Discussion of request to amended a previously amended NOI for drawdown of Cranberry Pond to allow for repair of a dam leakage. The commission requested that the engineering firm present information at the Special Meeting on November 5, at 6:30 PM.
Frank Fazi resigned from the Tolland Conservation Commission, effective immediately. A copy of his letter will be presented to the Board of Selectman.
As a result of two possible vacancies on the Tolland Conservation Commission, Alan Binder will request a revision of the commissions composition, with 4 members and 3 voting, to the Board of Selectman.
